Left to rue missed chances

A game which is always full of tasty tackles and goals, and it didn't disappoint from the start as tackles were plenty from the first whistle.
It took 19 minutes for the first main chance of the game, Jack West sending a lobbed ball over to Joe Crichton. Who had 2 bites of the cherry but was denied by a great double save from the oppositions keeper.
3 minutes later its our turn to defend, with Jordan Mumford making a mistake and leaving the striker with an empty net, Rob Orrell makes a last ditch tackle from nowhere to knock the ball out for a corner.
Jordan Mumford makes amends for his earlier mistake with a great save to keep it at 0-0
Jack West soon has the goal in sights after 29 minutes as he blasts over from 6 yards after a scramble in the box from a Tom Ray corner.
A misjudged ball by Jordan Mumford leaves them with an open goal again, but this time there is no last ditch tackle as they poke it into an open net on 32 minutes 0-1

Its not long before the scores are back level as Darius Willetts sends an exquisite ball over the top for Jack West slot past the keeper 5 minutes before the break 1-1

After the break the shots were few and far between, with the first chance coming 10 minutes after the restart. Darius Willetts smashing the ball wide from 15 yards.
Joe Crichton takes a wild swing, which goes high and wide at the next chance on 64 minutes.
Mitchell Williams has an half chance minutes later from an cross field lob form Darius Willetts, but cant get his shot off.
With 10 minutes to go, Mitchell Williams is in the thick of it again as he is body checked in the box but the referee waves away the protests, no penalty!!!
As the games draws to a close, we have to keep strong as they come at us, but we stay strong and defend well to keep the score 1-1

Rob Orrell was the rock in our defence today and deservedly won the Man of the Match trophy and Darius Willetts took home The Effort Award (awarded by Dec's Mum) for his faultless display today.

Another draw but a good point and it still leaves us up there in the mix.
Well done lads!!!
