The game started off scrappy and remained that way with no team really having any real chances. Lloyd Wallace coming close at the far post from a great cross from the right.
But then the opener came on 22 minutes when Tom Ray's pass split the defence for Jack West to drill low past the keeper 1-0
Chris Rant and Joe Crichton had chances, but neither could quite pull the trigger.
In the second half Wingerworth started to create chances, Jordan Mumford did well to keep out a shot which was heading for the top right corner.
The visitors continued to press with Jordan Mumford again stopping them, this time with a great point blank save from 5 yards.
Tom Ellis struggling with a hamstring injury, gave us a 2 goal lead on 70 minutes with an exquisite 25 yard curler into the top right corner from a neat lay off from Richard Nock 2-0
Mitchell Williams had the chance to add the gloss in the final minute but skied it from 5 yards after Richard Nock's cross from the left after the visitors switched off.
Callum Pattison took home The Man of The Match trophy after some great defending today, and Keenan Johnson claimed The Effort Award (awarded by Rob Orrell's Grandad)
Effort and getting stuck in won us this game after a slow start. But still keeping a clean sheet and 100% in a new league is a great start. With no game next week, let’s see if a week’s break will not break our momentum.
Well done on another victory lads!!!
